Summary: It's Toho's forgotten adventure for the ages! It's got mutant mammals, a less pretentious city than Mu (maybe), and Cesare Romero as a mad scientist! What could be better than that?

History: Welcome to latitude Zero! Located below the equator and the surface of the world, this place is one where science and the arts are the most treasured, and progress is life. It sounds great...except that two very powerful people are fighting over it for centuries. There's the benign McKenzie, and there's the evil Dr. Malik, who wishes to destroy the paradise. In fact, he's so evil that he took a lion, an eagle, and the brain of his second-in-command Captain Kroiga and stitched them together to make a monster named Black Moth! He also has giant rats and man-sized bat-men (not Gotham ones) to help him.

Final Fate: The bat-men are shot down by our heroes, the rats as well, while Black Moth keeps disobeying orders from Malik, probably because Kroiga didn't appreciate getting killed for science. It culminates with the lion-bird assaulting Malik's sub, the Black Shark, and taking it down with her as the mountain above collapses on them.

Powers/Abilities: Black Moth can change size significantly if Malik chooses. The bat-men can also fly rather well.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-These monsters are too damn campy to take seriously. While the rats look kind of creepy, the crappy suit-work is obvious, and the bat-men go down like wimps (even if the fight scene is fun to look at). Black Moth didn't even like her job anyway.

Trivia: -Black Moth is actually the English way of saying Kroiga's name, which is a combination of the Japanese words for black (Kuroi) and moth (Ga).

-All monsters were played by Haruo Nakajima, who was known for playing as Godzilla since the beginning before retiring in 1972.
